Event Description

Agenda for January 8, 2009 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM. This event repeats every month on the first Thursday after the first Saturday. Please join us in the decision making and planning of our activism.

I. Ongoing/Current Business

A.TPF Steering Committee: The new membership of the TPF Steering Committee for 2009 will be announced at the business meeting. TPF is run as a collective, with its organizational mode of operation being the rhizome, wherein each individual member provides initiative. Decisions as a collective are made on the basis of attaining consensus, very much in the Quaker "sense of the meeting." Mary MacAnnally, Poets & Pastors for Peace (Tulsa chapter), will be in attendance on this occasion.

B.Monthly Book/Video Exchange

A. Budget decisions
B. Theme for Monthly antiwar in Feb: Rally for Gaza? (The Islamic Society of Tulsa held a rally 2 Jan in Tulsa, with 160 people, and Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City held one 5 Jan in OKC, with 200 people, and with press conference)

III.Activities/Events

A. MLK vigil / service with guest sermon / parade: 18th & 19th Jan (see events listing for TPF on Ning)
B. Inauguration Events: 20th Jan (see events listing for TPF on Ning)
C. "An Introduction to Compassionate ‘Nonviolent’ Communication (NVC)" on Thursday, February 26 at 7:00pm. Oklahoma City University, W. Angie Smith Chapel, Watson Lounge
D. Seneca Scott (state house district 72) is hosting a North Tulsa citizen’s community coalition meeting, Tulsa Community College (northeast campus). To be held tomorrow, JANUARY 9, 2009, 5:30 PM
