Thank you to everyone who attended, holding banners, or placards, marching, and chanting "Healthcare not Warfare." A special thank you to Marilyn on guitar.

Although turnout was about 1/2 of what we wanted, today, for the march, we achieved many of our goals, notably, increasing visibility for the change in national priorities that is needed in this country. We turned a few heads! Also, we had two new and very enthusiastic members leading the way up and down Peoria Ave, plus we had some of the youngest demonstrators ever (including one 3-year old) at a TPF anti-war demonstration.

At the next monthly meeting of the Felllowship, we will consider what to do about increasing the number for our demonstrations.

Ending the War: A Definition

From the vantage point of the peace movement, President Obama's definition of "ending the war" is not ours. Our definition has not changed:

* Withdraw all the troops and bring them home (don't redeploy them to another illegal and unwinnable war in Afghanistan).
* Pull out all the U.S.-paid foreign mercenaries and contractors and cancel the remaining contracts.
* Close all U.S. military bases and turn them over to Iraq.
* Give up all efforts to control Iraq's oil.

We are not applying for a city permit to use the streets. Please stick to the sidewalks on Peoria Ave. Please use crosswalks to cross the street. Definitely use church parking lots, please.

This event is free and open to the public, so bring your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. The more people the better!

The Rally will feature a guest musician, from the Carrie Dickerson Foundation (anti-nuclear outfit in Tulsa). Listen for a rousing rendition of "Give Peace a Chance"

The TPF Steering Committee has confirmed the route. Also, we strongly recommend that your placard for this event choose to show one of either of these two slogans:

IT'S THE WAR ECONOMY, HONEY !

HEALTHCARE, NOT WARFARE !

The Tulsa Police Department has been advised of our presence up & down Peoria Ave on this occasion.
