There never was a good war or a bad peace. ~Ben Franklin
Rep. Grayson introduces a bill to cut separate funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and uses the money to eliminate federal income taxes on every American earning less than $35,000 per year.
Grayson’s legislation would slash the $159 billion request for supplemental war funding and use that money to deliver a tax break for al...l Americans. Grayson demands the Pentagon use its currently existing $549 billion defense budget to fight the wars. Speaking on the House floor today, Grayson underscored that the point of his legislation is to highlight the costs of the wars. Congressmen Kucinich and congressmen Ron Paul are cosponsors.
If passed, this legislation would ensure that no American making under $35K would have to pay federal income taxes, from the savings made from defunding the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan.
