There never was a good war or a bad peace. ~Ben Franklin

Joni LeViness, TPF Steering Committee member, featured in TulsaWorld, 2006 article

From the archives: Celebrating the courage and conviction of TPF Steering Committee member J. Leviness, who declaimed publicly against the war-profiteering of one U.S. company in particular, namely Halliburton, and against war as a form of corporate welfare for U.S. defense contractors more generally.

She was jailed briefly for protesting outside the Halliburton shareholders meeting in Duncan, Okla.

In the photo, she is brandishing a "Stop Halliburton" placard, with posters behind her reading "Halliburton overcharges $212 million" and "War is corporate welfare".
