Tulsa Peace Fellowship

There never was a good war or a bad peace. ~Ben Franklin

It doesn't look like I will make it there this year,so will scrounge up some cash..It was great seeing Father Roy Bourgeois when he came to Tulsa..jean
Next month, we will be gathering at the gates of Fort Benning in
remembrance of those who have lost their lives to SOA/WHINSEC violence,
and in resistance to the continued militarization of Latin America. As many of you prepare to
attend the vigil, know that the SOA Watch staff is also hard at work to
ensure that this year's vigil, our twentieth, will be our most
inclusive, bringing activists from across the country and around the
world to Fort Benning. In order to make this year's vigil happen, we need to raise $44,000 by
October 25, 2010
.

You have been a crucial part of our success in the past, and we turn to
you once again for support. The ongoing SOA/ WHINSEC violence in Colombia as well as the
recent coups in Honduras and Ecuador with links to SOA/WHINSEC graduates
underscore the urgency to close the SOA and change U.S. policy towards
Latin America. Mass mobilizations of thousands play a crucial part in
this effort. Please consider a donation to our vigil fund. When you make a contribution of $100 or
more
,
you get your name on the program..

Looks like SOA exported its goons to Iraq: This in the news today, from the Independent (UK):

"From late in 2004 Interior Ministry troops trained by the Americans were taking part in savage raids on Sunni or suspected Baathist districts. People prominent in Saddam Hussein's regime were arrested and disappeared for few days until their tortured bodies were dumped beside the roads.

Iraqi leaders whispered that the Americans were involved in the training of what were in fact death squads in official guise. It was said that US actions were modelled on counter-insurgency methods pioneered in El Salvador by US-trained Salvadoran government units."
