Tulsa Peace Fellowship

There never was a good war or a bad peace. ~Ben Franklin

A Third Place shares many of the goals of TPF, including sustainability and justice, and is implementing a tactic of mutual aid for North Tulsans. Over the past few years, A Third Place has established a firm foundation and accomplished a great deal in the North Tulsa / Turley community - from community gardens to food banks, nutrition classes to health clinics, arts and crafts to holiday celebrations. It’s a place for people to come together to solve shared challenges at the grassroots level. Their message is that power lies with the people.

The "TulsaNorth/Turley" neighborhoods will receive a free fruit tree orchard after A Third Place won in a online voting competition / contest for similarly deserving projects across the nation.

The planting of the orchard in Turley takes place next weekend. This is an all-day event, Sunday, June 26, 2011 · 8:00am - 6:00pm
