the 2009 MLK Parade forms at Pine Street and Cincinnati Ave. and proceeds east on Pine to Greenwood Ave, south on Greenwood through the Greenwood Business District. A Rally, sponsored by Langston University-Tulsa, will feature presentation of parade trophies immediately following the parade in the Main Hall Commons, 700 N. Greenwood Ave. The parade will be televised from 10 a.m. to Noon on KTUL-Channel 8
Members of LEADERS INVOLVED IN FIGHTING FOR EQUALITY (“L.I.F.E."), the OCCJ's Anytown alumni group and members of the Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice (OCCJ) board members will march in the Parade.
The members of TPF participated in last year's 2008 MLK Parade, which passed right in front of Peace House Tulsa, in the historic Greenwood area. Members of Tulsa Peace Fellowship are encouraged to attend this year's parade.
TPF is a registered non-profit organization in the State of Oklahoma, a non-partisan and non-sectarian civic sector organization, devoted to peace, social uplift, and nonviolence.
